BODY BASICS BOB-OVER

AANYA VAN HORN

Few other applicants were as persistent as 25-year-old Aanya Van Horn.  With that kind of attitude and dedication, the Body Basics BOB-over was the perfect opportunity for Aanya to start living the life she wants.

10/28/05 Journal Entry - Week 1

Today I feel pretty good. I’m looking forward to the first group meeting tomorrow morning. I am still in shock that I am able to participate in this wonderful opportunity. I hope that my success through this program is able to help someone else have the motivation to change their life. I have great confidence in myself to finally lose the weight and get healthy again. I’m sure it will be tough in the beginning, but nothing is ever easy. And of course, change is never easy as well, whether it is good or bad. I have a lot of goals for this program. I turn 25 in December and I want to feel great about myself when I go to Disneyland in celebration! I signed up for L.A. Fitness yesterday and will start taking the step classes.

11/04/05 Journal Entry - Week 2 (dictated because Aanya was sick and couldn't get into work to email)

This week was really tough. REALLY REALLY tough, but I managed to stay away from all fried foods for the whole week and worked out 5 days in a row.  I also figured out which exercise works best for me (it turned out to be swimming) and it felt good to finally feel what was comfortable for me.

Overall the week was very emotional – I even broke down crying.  I think the other girls are feeling a bit of the same.  We just haven't really worked out bodies like this and it's getting hard.  But it is the second week so hopefully things will get better from here.

11/11/05 Journal Entry - Week 3

This week has been uneventful! I have been very sick since last Thursday and I am having a hard time getting over it. The doctor told I could not workout or go to work for this week. I missed 2 days of work and haven’t had any energy to workout all week. I feel really bad about that, but I would be 10 times worse if I made myself go to the gym. I have focused on healthy choices for my food though! I still have not eaten out at all or had any fried foods!!! I’m so proud of myself for committing to that for these 2 weeks. I don’t know about you but staying away from fast food, fried foods, and chips are very hard for me. I have kept up on my water as well. I feel pretty good about that part of the program. I’m hoping that I can start working out on Monday. My hours at work change on Monday and I will then work 9am to 6pm. I am going to try and go to the gym in the morning, which should give me even better results throughout the program. I think being able to workout in the morning sets you up to do better with everything else during the day. It’s just so hard to go and be to work by 8am. With this extra hour, I think I will do great! I’m very excited to not be sick and get right back into the swing of things! I had a great first week! I lost 7.5 pounds and felt great! Obviously it won’t come off like that every week, but what a great start huh? Thank you! Have a great weekend!
